Great news! The Runaways has a releasing date, March 19th, 2010. It’ll open in 1400 theaters nationwide.
New York—January 13, 2010— Apparition will open THE RUNAWAYS in over 1400 theaters on March 19. The music-fueled story of the ground-breaking, all girl, teenage rock band of the 1970s stars Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning, Danielle Riley Keough, Scout Taylor-Compton (TV’s “Arrested Development”), and Michael Shannon. The film marks the first theatrical collaboration between Apparition and River Road Entertainment. Executive Produced by Joan Jett and Produced by River Road and Linson Entertainment, THE RUNAWAYS will have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival Sunday, January 24.

Great news for Kristen! Welcome To The Rileys is the second most requested film at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival, according to B-Side.
At this point in time the Festival Genius gives us a glimpse into the answers to the first two questions, at least as they pertain to the Sundance Film Festival. Rob Epstein & Jeffrey Friedman’s presentation of Allen Ginsberg’s story (HOWL) leads the pack with the most calendar adds, followed up closely by Welcome to the Rileys (with Kristen Stewart and James Gandolfini) and John Wells’ The Company Men with Ben Affleck. As the festival progresses the numbers will be in constant flux – the audience will soon discover those hidden gems that become the surprise hits.
Gina McIntyre from Los Angeles Times, had the opportunity to chat with the movie’s producer Wyck Godfrey and here’s some extracts of her interview:
No decision has yet been made as to whether or not the Breaking Dawn novel will be split into two scripts (and two movies) or one. But we’ve heard that before. What is news, though, is that he is all but confirming that New Moon director Chris Weitz will NOT be back to helm Breaking Dawn, one film or two. He’s also confirming that the three stars are on board and the plan is to begin shooting this fall in Vancouver.
As for breaking up Breaking Dawn into two films, “It’s a work in process,” said Godfrey. “The issue [of whether there will be one or two movies] is not going to be resolved until we get the full treatment and see whether it’s organic. If it’s not organic, I don’t think it will be done, and if it is, it will be. It really has to do with how much level of detail from the books there is, with all of these new vampires that appear in Breaking Dawn, the whole section about Jacob…It’s a very long single movie if it does become a single movie.”
The three principal actors, Kristen Stewart, Rob Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner have apparently completed their negotiations and are “signed,” indicating that Summit may have brokered a deal which would cover either one or two movies. Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg is back on board and hard at work on what will be either one or two films, but whatever the outcome, Breaking Dawn will be made “with an eye toward beginning to shoot in Vancouver this fall.”
Finally! First of all, I want to apologize to all of you for taking this long break. Believe me, I did not want to, but some personal issues I had to deal with made impossible for me to be active on the site.

I also wanted to state something that I consider important. I am aware of all the pictures and sightings that have been hitting the net the past month about Robert and Kristen’s vacation in the UK. I’m not going to lie, I’m very happy that they’ve decided to come out as a couple and that they are spending quality time together.
However, I wanted to say that we won’t, in any case, post personal pictures of them, for instance, pictures taken by fans and/or pictures taken from personal Kristen or Robert’s relatives.
We will continue to post candids and sightings, though, as we have always done.
